Midvale Clinic
Project Description
Midvale Clinic comprises of two large Victorian terrace houses in Midvale Road, Paignton which have been opened up to create one large building.
Kirkham Board acted as Architectural Designers, Project Managers, Cost Advisors, and CDM Coordinators in the complete refurbishment of the building, which included extensive liaison with The Care Trust and the buildings' Users to reconfigure the entire building so that clinical and patient areas are on the lower levels, and staff areas are on the upper levels. Previously parents and small children had to be seen in rooms that were located within the roof levels of the building via narrow staircases; which was not practical or desirable.
The building had not been refurbished for many years, which was reflected in the extent of works required.
Kirkham Board also created a state of the art Audiology room within one of the retained rooms, which acoustic tests have confirmed gives the lowest possible noise reduction levels for a refurbished room.
